About CEREC Same Day Crowns

When a tooth suffers from a large filling or crack, a crown is needed to help the tooth function correctly and return to its optimal shape.

The CEREC same day crown technology allows our patients to leave our clinic with a perfectly-fitted crown with just one visit. This technology essentially uses a 3D scanner to take a digital impression of a patient’s tooth after the decay or fracture is removed. This 3D image fabricates a same-day crown that fits over the remaining tooth. The crown restores the tooth to its natural function and color

The CEREC same-day crown treatment is known for its speed and comfortable treatment. The entire same-day crown process only takes around 2 hours. Patients enjoy this technology because it does not include the uncomfortable mouthful of impression putty, and there is only one injection.

How it Works

Step 1: Scan

Patients do not have to experience the discomfort of an impression tray. The CEREC Primescan or CEREC Omnicam takes precise 3D images and uses a tooth’s natural color

Step 2: Design

After analyzing the complete scan, the CEREC software generates restoration proposals. This helps our team gets our patients to the production stage faster.

Step 3: Produce

The CEREC grinding and milling unit and CEREC software are optimally matched. The grinding/milling is extremely precise. This provides the restorations with smooth surfaces and edges, and very fine fissures.

Step 4: Sinter and glaze

Full-contour zirconia restorations are sintered and glazed chairside in the compact CEREC SpeedFire. This technology allows unparalleled short sintering and firing times.
